Italy

This was the first project for the WWW1 class. It's kinda cheesy, but I took all the pics myself when I visited my cousin in Italy last April. The photo of David was taken illegally (I can't spell if you haven't figured that out already) in Florence. Apparantely you can't take photos of the Statue anymore. Thank goodness for small, digital cameras! Anyway, I have a full-front and full-back of David (if ya know what I mean) but didn't think that would be appropriate for my blog. You know, cuz SO many people visit and post things! Ha!

What you can't see on Pisa are my hands "holding it up." Both my husband and I tried pushing that sucker back in place, but we got a little winded so headed to the five towns in Italy called "Cinque Terre", which is partially pictured on the main graphic.

I went to Italy with my husband and our good friend, Tim, last April. We had quite the time getting there, let me tell ya! The first class seats on the plane were the BEST! (thanks Aunt Ruth and Tracy!). Arriving in Milan, taking a bus to the train station, then figuring out that FIRENZE is actually Florence was quite the feat. When we arrived in Florence cuz Tracy picked us up in the smallest car in the world. My DH barely fit!

Now, trying to return BACK to the states was an even larger challenge. Flying stand-by has it's drawbacks, as we soon learned in the Rome airport. We didn't make the flight, nor were we going to make the next day's flight, so we took yet another train to the Rome train station where we bought tickets to Frankfort in a sleeper car. We shared a super-small cabin with a Russion who spoke very little english, and an Italian who spoke absolutely no english. £350 and 14 hours later we arrived in the Franfort airport, where we STILL didn't know if we were going to get on a plane! We finally made it (first class again, thank goodness!) and arrived in Atlanta 8 hours later. We RAN to our gate after customs, and made the last flight out to STL.

I hope to return to Italy for New Years and spend some girl time with my cousin. My DH will just have to stay home! HA!
